imageWhat do you do?

I am a Professional Lighting Designer.

What’s intrigued you about advertising?

I am not part of the advertising industry but have always been interested in the arts.I am still an amateur in advertising and I am trying to improve with my ads. I have won two community prizes. My aim now is to win the brand prize judged by the team.

How did you hear about BrandPotion?

I saw the advertisement in the Times of India.

Name some ads that have inspired you to get creative.

Some of my favourites - The old classic Cadbury Dairy Milk ad – Kuch Khaas Hai.

Camlin’s Permanent Marker Ad which is very hilarious.

Airtel’s Har ek friend zaroori hota hai which is very true. We have different types of friends in our lives and all are important.

To name a few from the Ads posted in BrandPotion are:

Indian Dream - Rupee with values

No Donation No Reservation in 2020

Words that uncover truth – Mumbai Mirror

How does it feel to have won a prize on BrandPotion?

I feel happy on winning two amazing prizes. The win has inspired me to take up BrandPotion as a hobby. It has also inspired me to learn Photoshop on my own.

Tell us about the thought process behind your winning entry.

One was “A Degree(n) to foliate buildings” for Education of Choice. I have done my degree in Environmental Engineering. My family and I  take great interest in gardens --that is the inspiration behind the idea; a course which will teach how to bring gardens to our homes in the available spaces.

The other one was “Your Little Heart” for Shatayu True Giving competition.Heart donation is known but very rare.Heart beats are usually referred to love.It was just a way to inspire people to have a big heart-- to let go of their own little heart to beat for someone else.

The two winning entries were through community votes.I shared my work with all my friends through social networking sites which helped not only in increasing my votes but also spreading the word about Brandpotion. There were some doubts posted by other users questioning if my votes were genuine and whether its possible to get 100 people (500 Votes) to vote for one ad.I take this opportunity to reply saying that  more than 100 people had voted.I worked hard on social networking sites to spread the word about my ad.I must admit campaigning is difficult. But it paid off.Even if 200 friends on facebook are told about the ad; it makes a huge difference.

What software do you use to create your ads?

I use MS Power point, MS-Paint and Photoshop.

Which has been your favourite brief to work on—in terms of which was the most fun, and the most interesting?

Vaseline – Inspire Touch, Santa Claus in India. I regret that I was not able to participate in the previous competitions that I missed.

What changes would you like to see on BrandPotion?

BrandPotion is doing a great job being transparent and encouraging. My suggestion is –If the BrandPotion team finds some ads interesting; it would be great if they could award some points to those ads.
