Monster India BeKnown Facebook App Monster India, the local arm of the global recruitment site, recently announced the BeKnown application (app) for its Indian Facebook page. The app provides Facebook users the ability to transfer their MonsterIndia.com profiles to the social networking site, allowing them to apply for openings in companies that have done the same.

The app will take advantage of the strong presence of Facebook in India; around 35 million Indians are on the social networking site (SNS). Monster India currently has only around 15,000 fans on their Facebook page---a statistic they'll be hoping to change with the announcement of BeKnown. They are currently trailing competitor Naukri.com, who has around 50,000 fans on their Facebook page.

Monster India previously partnered with direct-to-home service Dish TV to allow applications through the service. However, this didn't have the same potential their Facebook app has; Dish TV had only 5.5 million subscribers at the time of the tie-up.

Facebook has recently shown interest in providing job postings for their 800 million users. The social network has tied up with the US Department of Labor and three employment agencies to target the country's unemployed. The tie-up may lead to a jobs app on the network, that could help interested recruiters find relevant applicants. Looks like Monster's got a bit of a lead on the social network.

What do you think of the BeKnown app? Would you consider using just one network for professional and personal uses? Let us know in the comments below.
