New water flavour, thanks to social networking

Last week, VitaminWater announced the
outcome of their social network experiment to find a new flavour for their line
of enhanced water. VitaminWater Connect has its roots in Facebook. Facebooker
Sarah, from Illinois,
took home the grand prize of USD 5,000 for designing this new flavour--a blend
of black cherry and lime.
VitaminWater--a line of enhanced, flavoured
water from Glacéau, a privately owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola Company--launched
an application on Facebook last year that drew in fans of the water brand to
talk about their favourite flavours. The most talked about flavours found their
way into a top 10 list and a tag cloud. Once the top 10 list was finalised,
users got to vote for their favourites and design labels. Sarah and five other
finalists were chosen out of the numerous entries as the best designs.
Regardless of whether fans of the water
brand accept the new flavour, VitaminWater has already managed to pick up over
a million Facebook fans with its social network experiment.
