Sony Ericsson Facebook Contest Sony Ericsson has targeted its 4.8 million Facebook fans in a contest on the social networking site. The contest, which started yesterday, invites users to review one of the two new smart phones before its official launch.
 
In the first step of the contest, participants have to explain why they should be the one to first review the phone. On 31 May, 12 fans will be selected for the next round. These 12 lucky fans will receive the phone which is to be reviewed. They have to create a 45-second video review and submit it before 6 June. Final four videos will be put up on Sony Ericsson Facebook page and the most Liked video will win 10 Sony Ericsson phones. The winner will be declared on 13 June.
 
Sony Ericsson has very well targeted its fan base on Facebook.  This will help them interact with their fans and give them exposure; not many companies have used such kind of promotion. In India, they have over 380,000 fans and getting reviews from users will help them gain insights into consumer choice. Additionally, it gives consumers a trusted source for the review: their fellow consumers.
