Bacardi Ace Rafa Here's a look at three global brands using different platforms to promote causes, products and services.

Bacardi has unveiled a new app to support its 'Champions Drink Responsibly' campaign. Featuring Rafael Nadal, the app invites Facebook users (over the legal drinking age) to play as the RoboServ 3000 and beat Rafa. Winners will go into a free draw to win a spot in the Grand Final, with finalists winning the opportunity to meet Rafa himself in Mallorca, Spain. Based on the idea that "Everyone knows where the line is", the app has been created to spread the message to fans of the multiple-Grand Slam champ, the sport and the brand.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, Samsung UK has found another way to include users in a promotion for the Galaxy Note, their latest tablet/phone. The brand invites users to direct their tweets to @samsungmobile, using the hashtag #createmytweet. The best tweets will be turned into works of art by illustrators, using the Note's digital pen and memo app. This promotion is aimed at showing off the product's capabilities and getting users involved.

Using the slightly more limited, but fairly novel iPad as a platform, Domino's has launched an iPad game for their US customers called ‘Pizza Hero'. Involving users in the process of making a pizza from scratch, the game pits users against each other to create the best pizzas and achieve the highest scores. Scores are calculated based on the quality of the virtual pizzas; users receive points for kneading the dough, spreading the sauce, cheese and other toppings. The game also has a tab where users can order the pizzas they create in the game. Throwing a little bit of fun into the fairly mundane process of ordering a pizza, the game's a unique way to get users involved.
