Winners of the Spykar Competition
2010, May 28 Hi All,
This was perhaps one of the toughest competitions to judge,
on a number of levels. Firstly, of course, because of the large number of
entries received. Secondly, Spykar liked so many of the ads in the print and
concept categories that choosing became a problem. Third, a number of the ads
that were really good did not fully match up to the brief, and were ineligible
to win prizes.
Therefore, to avoid awarding prizes for ads that were
ineligible, Spykar decided to split the prizes and select the winners
themselves.
Print
First Prize of Rs 11,000: "U:thalon" by fiveidiots
Second Prize of Rs 6,000: "Finding new ways" by Kanika
Third Prize of Rs 4,000: "Put your impression" by Pareesd
Online Banner
First Prize of Rs 5,000: "Spykar defines change" by tangupta
Second Prize of Rs 3,000: "Spykar Jeans" by sowmya
Third Prize of Rs 3,000: "Rupesh_Spykar_Banner_2" by rupesh09
Radio
Since there is only one eligible submission, Spykar has
decided not to award any cash prizes but to give a Rs 5,000/- Gift Voucher for
participation and effort to "Spykar Jeans" by shailesh1725.
Concept
First Prize of Rs 2,500: "Spykar Skin" by shaktitriton10
Second Prize of Rs 2,500: "Spykar: India Rocks
and so will the Earth" by nitishvj007
Third Prize of Rs 2,500: "There is one for
everyone" by anu
Video
The prizes for the video ad have not been awarded since
there were no eligible entries to award the prizes to. Instead, Spykar is
considering holding a separate competition just for the video category, to give
you a second chance to make video ads. Stay tuned for more news on this.
This being the first big competition on BrandPotion, we are
glad to have gotten past the initial struggle on this learning curve. Still, we
were impressed by the number of entries that you have submitted and the
creativity and enthusiasm you have shown through your participation. We thank
you for the amount of support you have garnered for us by recommending
BrandPotion to your friends and peers.
Congratulations to the winners. You've wowed the brand, and
you've wowed us too.
And to those who didn't win: Now that you've had some
practice, we expect to see you on your toes for the upcoming competitions!
To borrow a line from Spykar, we hope to hear you say: Bring
it on!

We are highly delighted to know that our concept note won the 1st prize. We had great fun in coming up with this idea and are glad to know that you liked it.
However we failed to decipher on your comment on the video category. We would want you to elucidate on the same.
I believe given the entries you should have chosen 1 video from those that we posted. Obviously you cannot expect TVC like quality or finished products to be uploaded for a contest like this.
For your information the concept note that won us the best prize had also been presented in the video category.
we request you to re look at the video category and make a choice in all earnesty.
Regards,

@shaktitriton10 congratulations for your concept! IMHO it was valuable and I’m glad it was noticed. with regards to videos, I do not agree with the point you made writing “you cannot expect TVC like quality or finished products to be uploaded for a contest like this”. I’m a proud member of another creative community in Europe/US – have a look at zooppa.com – and the quality of winning videos is high. I believe that is an inspiration for us here, I can see no reason why we cannot replicate the same quality in India. videos uploaded for Spykar were almost all downloaded from the Internet and simply edited with logo/copy. we can do better than that…
