Brief

Beepers,

We’ve put up a few contests on a few brands so far, and we’ve been pleased with the amount of work but now we want to see something different from you. So we’re going to offer you a new, different brand to work on: BrandPotion. Yes, we want to see what you can do for us. And we’re offering some interesting prizes for it. We want you to make ads that speak for us.

If anything, this is us proving we believe in the concept of BrandPotion. We know that this creative team we’ve built, and continue to build, can make work that will wow the crowd. And that’s what we want to see. So off with the gloves, and let’s get down to business.

The Brief:
Convince brands that BrandPotion has the creative team for them.

Media:
The one medium we want you to focus on is video. When you’re making a video, think of the options at your disposal. Use your cellphone’s camera if you must, because we’re not thinking TV, we’re thinking viral. Your video ad must be shot, or at least have elements that are recorded by you. Videos consisting of scenes cut from movies/ads won’t do. And it’s important to consider the following: grab attention, and, while you have it, get your point across.

Have a look at these amazing video ads made on minimal budgets around the world. They were each entered into similar contests on our sister site, Zooppa.

For print, do ensure that the image you use has been created/shot by you. If that isn’t possible, do choose your image(s) keeping in mind that your ad will have to be recreated.

Online banners must have some element of animation/movement. Online banners that are simply duplicates of print ads, albeit in a .gif format, will be disqualified.

Judging Process:
Since this is a contest that’s different from the others we’ve held so far, this time the judging will be done by the BrandPotion team. You can still vote, and the votes will be taken into account during the judging process. But they’re not the ultimate criteria that your ads will be judged on. The most important rules here are to stick to the brief and be creative.

Requirements:
Create a tagline.
Include the BrandPotion logo
The work must be original.
It should not offend any religious/cultural sensibilities.

The unlicensed use of another person’s copyright, publicity or privacy rights could disqualify your contest entry. This includes the use of photographs, fonts and in some cases trademarks unless provided by the contest sponsor.
